The weather is heating up and so is Palladium’s release schedule. Here is what one fan had to say about recent releases. The emphases are all his.

NEW! A lot about Robotech® because Dante is a huge Robotech® fan. I’m not my usual energetic self because the impromptu interview was made the last day of the Open House. As you can imagine, by then I was quite worn out, my voice was fading, and my eyes were very tired. Despite this, the interview is quite entertaining and has the feel of a quiet, one on one conversation. Everyone here has enjoyed it, I think you will too.

COMING! The popular RPG podcast adventures from www.realplaygamespod.com will be back with more fun this summer. Tentatively scheduled to start in July is the Cozy Caverns Mysteries inspired by Beyond the Supernatural, 2nd Edition. It sounds fantastic. These merry maniacs also have more episodes of their After the Bomb® (mutant animals) series and a new Heroes Unlimited Christmas Special in the works. We’ll provide all the details as these programs get closer to their release dates.

COMING! BTS Creature Feature sourcebook. Beyond the Supernatural fans should be delighted with this monster adventure book. I am deep into the final rewrite for it, enjoying the process, and moving along at a good pace. It contains a dozen cool monsters, a few adventures, additional adventure hooks, and a juicy section with rules clarifications and advice for players and Game Masters alike. This book is a ton of fun and a hint of what you can expect from future BTS titles. More details and a release date as soon as it goes to the printer in a few weeks.

COMING! Rifts® Titan Robotics™. This big toy box of robots, power armor, guns, and gear offers more secrets about the self-proclaimed machine-god Archie-Three and his front company Titan Robotics. Sean Owen Roberson has been pounding away at it and making good headway. Titan Robotics™ will be a nice companion to all Rifts® North America titles, but especially Northern Gun 1 & 2, Rifts® Sourcebook 1 & 2, Rifts® Bionics Sourcebook, Shemarrian Nation, Rifts® Black Market, and all Coalition States and Mercenary titles.

COMING! 3 titles to be re-released. We have received multiple requests for certain out of print titles. Three of those requested titles will see release over the course of the summer. What they are and when you can expect them will be revealed soon.

COMING! Rifts® Bestiary Volume 2. After Sean is done with Titan Robotics™, he dives into Rifts® Bestiary Vol. 2; I will provide guidance on this book and a handful of new creatures. Otherwise, I will be working on Rifts® Antarctica. Sorry, we do not yet have a release date for Volume 2. Being realistic, this is probably a 4th quarter 2022 release.

COMING! Rifts® Antarctica. After I’m finished with Creature Feature I will get to work finishing Rifts® Antarctica and can hardly wait. This will include a wide range of things the Raw Preview Edition did not. Being realistic, this is probably a 4th quarter 2022 release.

What other books are coming? We are not in a position to reveal what they are or when they might see release at this stage, but a number of non-Rifts titles are in the works, as well as some Rifts® books. With the release of the Lopan and Land of the South Winds Raw Preview Editions, you know some of those plans include material for Palladium Fantasy, but book titles, their order of release, and target release dates are not to be determined until the various titles near completion. Just know more fun and adventure across the Megaverse® is coming throughout the year.

Available now: One-of-a-kind book negatives. Negatives are always very popular items at the Palladium Open House and Gen Con. Truly unique, attractive, and fun.

Negatives are unique and attractive, one-of-a-kind (on rare occasions two-of-a-kind if a page or section of pages were replaced or a second edition was made) works of art that resemble woodcut art and are very dynamic conversation pieces. Before digital printing, pages of a book were laid out by hand on a board, and each page was photographed. The plastic film negatives were then “ganged” on a massive sheet of Mylar 16 pages per big sheet, and the printing plates were made from the negatives – everything white, printing black.

When our printer, McNaughton and Gunn was going to discard them, Palladium acquired many (not all) of the old negatives. I am only keeping a few books for myself and make majority of the rest available to you. I sign each negative in silver and each comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. The negative comes on a white board inside a plastic magazine bag and looks fabulous framed! Fits in an 8×10 inch matt opening in a frame (each neg is roughly 8½ x 11 inches). But don’t miss the other collectibles as well.

Closing Thoughts – more knockout products are coming

I have been saying for a while now that we are pushing the envelope and making sure every product is brimming over with Wow Factor. You are finally seeing what has been in the works with recent releases like Rifts® Coalition Manhunters™, The Rifter® #85, and the Lopan and Land of the South Winds Raw Previews; and those last two aren’t even the finished books. The final releases will be fine-tuned and souped up even more!

The knockout products will keep coming with Creature Feature for BTS, Rifts® Titan Robotics™, Rifts® Bestiary Volume 2, Rifts® Antarctica, Land of the Damned 3: The Bleakness (Fantasy), and all the rest in the pipeline.

One reason you are finally seeing knockout new releases is this has been the agenda I have been working toward for the last few years, and I’ve ingrained what Palladium needs into my freelance writers and artists. Everyone is fired up and excited about Palladium’s future.

Another reason is Sean Owen Roberson and our unique relationship. He gets it and has understood Palladium’s “secret sauce” from the beginning. More than that, Sean and I are on the same wavelength and completely in sync. When it comes to writing, world building, game design, and ways to build and improve the company, we see eye to eye on almost everything. It’s as if we are of one mind, or what Sean calls our perpetual “mind meld.” And boy, oh boy, have we been mind melding ideas for Rifts® Titan Robotics™, Rifts® Bestiary Volume 2, and the many other projects in the pipeline! It helps that we work in the same building every day and are able to talk and spit-ball ideas anytime we want, which is often. We are also both high-energy people and our mutual enthusiasm and respect keep each of our engines fired up and running at high performance. Everyday feels exciting and filled with new promise.

We are thrilled you are loving the recent releases and we know you will love the rest of the books coming out in 2022 and years to come. As we have said a few times now, we are spending this year and the next giving you many of the long-awaited titles you have wanted, along with a few new titles and re-releases of old faves sprinkled in for good measure. After we have succeeded on that front, we can really cut loose. After these past two years lost to Covid, we are champing at the bit to put books in your hands.

As I recently explained to one of our valued customers, just because I try to be positive in the Weekly Updates doesn’t mean Palladium has not had its share of struggles and challenges. We were a skeleton crew for much of 2020 with me handling most of the day to day operations. That was rough. In some ways 2021 was even crazier, a year of scrambling, restructuring, rebuilding, and dealing with unprecedented supply chain issues. Through it all, we have tried to stay positive and creative, which is difficult some days.

2022 is our comeback year with several major releases, all of them long overdue. Coalition Manhunters and The Rifter® #85 are available now! I am currently busy at work on Creature Feature, a BTS sourcebook. It’s going to be a damn good resource for players and Game Masters alike. The monsters are all interesting and eerie, the adventures and hooks are scary and fun, and the clarifications and the player and G.M. advice is priceless. While I work on Creature Feature, Sean Owen Roberson is simultaneously busy with the rewrites and editing of Rifts® Titan Robotics. Between him and Matthew Clements’ writing, along with my input and ideas, you know this book will rock. We are finishing these two titles because they were pretty far along, making them quicker to finish compared to other titles. As for Rifts Bestiary Volume 2, after all this time, we don’t want to crap out a piece of junk, so I have assigned Palladium’s top two writers to tackle it in July – that’s me and Sean! We want Bestiary 2 to be every bit as good as Volume One. It will see release sometime later this year.

Of course, there’s more going on behind the scenes. We expect you’ll start to see some of that in the months ahead too, but much of those plans and our big projects must remain a secret for now.

We love you and are giving every book our all to make them amazing and fun. Thank you for your continuing support through thick and thin. Please try to stay positive and hopeful during these increasingly uncertain and expensive times, and find escape in your Palladium role-playing games to seek some relief.
