Palladium Collectibles – at Kevin’s Online Toy & Collectibles eBay Store

I am adding new collectibles of all kinds to my Ebay store every few weeks. Some are Palladium negatives, rare and out of print books, original Palladium artwork, prints, posters, as well as other collectible toys, action figures, Nightmare Before Christmas items, one-of-a-kind proofreader copies, books, and other good stuff – including Erick Wujcik’s rare and sought after Amberzine #12-15. One-of-a-kind Palladium Books negatives (special and rare collectibles). Negatives are always very popular items at the Palladium Open House, Gen Con, and conventions, and are catching on as rare collectibles, unique in and of themselves. Before digital printing, pages of a book were laid out by hand on a board, and each page was photographed.

  • Each negative is truly unique, attractive, and fun to have.

  • Own a piece of Palladium Books and RPG history you will treasure.

  • Each was used to print the very book you may have in your collection (1981-2004).

CLOSING THOUGHTS

Forward Movement


Sean is back in Michigan after his trip to Asia. We cannot talk about all he was up to overseas, but it all seems to have gone very well. Likewise, we continue to lay the groundwork for upcoming projects, new book releases, a new website, and much more.


We expect to be making a major announcement about the progress of TMNT & Other Strangeness RPG Redux editions and related Kickstarter exclusives as they approach going into manufacturing. Everything is coming together nicely. Note: Gamers and Retailers can still place orders in the TMNT & Other Strangeness Pre-Order Store at the lower Kickstarter prices, but not for very much longer. (Backers, you can still add or change your Kickstarter selections, but do so soon.)


A few visitors, including writer Carmen Bellaire, have had the opportunity to see the finished book layouts and physical samples of some FanRoll items at the Palladium Studio, and love what they’ve seen. Carmen said, “Kev, the books look even better than I imagined. Fans are going to go crazy over these. And those metal Shredder dice are something special. Gotta make sure I ordered a set.”


New books coming soon: We also expect to announce the release of new books very soon – Yin-Sloth Expeditions and Bestiary Volume 2 amongst the first releases of 2025.


Social Media: The Official History of Palladium Books continues to post on the Palladium YouTube Channel every other week and you can expect to see me and Sean back on Legion of Myth, the Glitterbois, and elsewhere.


Nightbane Survival Guide Audiobook is the latest venture by the AudioRPG company to drum up excitement for role-playing game audiobooks. I think the actual Nightbane RPG will be offered next. If they get a good response (they were happy with the Dark Designs crowdfunder), they’ll do all of Palladium’s RPGs, including Fantasy, Dead Reign, and Rifts. We’re impressed with the quality of these audiobooks. Check it out. It’s only around $25 to get in on the ground floor. We think this has tremendous potential.

Nightbane Dark Designs

The GAMA Trade Show was an interesting and fun experience. We saw a lot of excitement for TMNT & Other Strangeness RPG Redux and other upcoming products for various Palladium game lines, namely Rifts, Palladium Fantasy, and Beyond the Supernatural. There were some very nice moments with pals Mike and Lisa Pondsmith of R.Talsorian Games, Brandon Aten and Matthew Orr of Wet Ink Games, Christina from LongPack, as well as with friends Shawn and Lisa Hall, Blake, Doug, Ryan, other pals and various retailers and fans.


Our arrival to Louisville started with a surprise upgrade to what Wayne and I called our luxury suite. It was followed by a pleasant evening and delicious home cooked meal at the home of Shawn and Lisa Hall. The zaniest night of the week, however, was with the madmen at GamesQuest and Ark Transportation – specifically Nigel Matthews, Peter, Jeff Sheets, and Kyle Paxton. We just hit it off and enjoyed a raucous evening filled with good food, spirits and laughter. Our waitress Bobbi Jo was fun too, and I would soon discover that the front manager at the hotel was a big gamer thrilled to have all the rooms of his hotel filled by fellow gamers. Funny.


Thursday, the Exhibit Hall was painfully slow. Very few retailers for some reason, but that gave me and the R. Talsorian folks a chance to talk and catch up at their booth without interruption for at least 45 minutes. When I came back to the Palladium booth I had a surprising and nice Dynamite moment, before it was time to pack up and leave. The slow hours also gave me time to talk about the craft of writing with Shawn and Lisa, both aspiring authors. Our trip was bookended by the Halls taking me and Wayne to the Texas Roadhouse for our last dinner in Louisville.


We found downtown Louisville is a nice location for a convention. It felt safe and offered plenty of excellent dining places at every turn. The warm temperatures in Louisville made me long for the arrival of spring especially after returning to a cold and wintery Michigan. Thankfully the drive back home was uneventful, other than I caught another darn cold. It must be one of those years for me. Anyway, we’re back at the Palladium Studio working away.

Palladium Collectibles – at Kevin’s Online Toy & Collectibles eBay Store

I am adding new collectibles of all kinds to my Ebay store every few weeks. Some are Palladium negatives, rare and out of print books, original Palladium artwork, prints, posters, as well as other collectible toys, action figures, Nightmare Before Christmas items, one-of-a-kind proofreader copies, books, and other good stuff – including Erick Wujcik’s rare and sought after Amberzine #12-15. One-of-a-kind Palladium Books negatives (special and rare collectibles). Negatives are always very popular items at the Palladium Open House, Gen Con, and conventions, and are catching on as rare collectibles, unique in and of themselves. Before digital printing, pages of a book were laid out by hand on a board, and each page was photographed.

  • Each negative is truly unique, attractive, and fun to have.

  • Own a piece of Palladium Books and RPG history you will treasure.

  • Each was used to print the very book you may have in your collection (1981-2004).

  • Each is signed in silver ink by Kevin Siembieda and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.

Boiling beneath the surface


So much is boiling below the surface here in Palladiumville. We are busy all the time working on one thing or another.


As the TMNT & Other Strangeness RPG Redux editions and related Kickstarter exclusives approach going into manufacturing, everything is coming together nicely. Distributor orders are starting to come in, retailers are taking advantage of the Kickstarter Retailer Package still available in the TMNT & Other Strangeness Pre-Order Store and individual gamers who missed the Kickstarter can still get the core books and select items at the lower Kickstarter prices too, though not for very much longer. (Backers, you can still add or change your Kickstarter selections, but do so soon.)


I met with our printer rep and shipping partner at the GAMA trade show to discuss logistics and things are looking good. A few Backers swung by the Palladium Booth to see samples and were quite thrilled with what they saw. That included one of our top tier Backers who said he’s even more excited than before.


Secret projects, new business partners, and long awaited books (Rifts Bestiary Volume 2, Rifts Antarctica, Yin-Sloth Expeditions, BTS: Beyond Arcanum, etc.) are also coming along. When we are able to announce many of the unnamed products, I think you’ll be pleased and, in some cases, very pleasantly surprised.

Hello, everyone. There is a lot of news and happenings this week. Three out of stock titles arrived from the printer and our new color catalog also arrived and looks great. We are moving along work on various new books, finalizing aspects of TMNT & Other Strangeness RPG books and packaging. In fact, Wayne just retooled the poker deck box and he and I are finalizing the covers of the various book editions. In addition, I’m going to see Kevin Eastman this weekend at the Great Lakes Comic-Con, finalizing display and presentation materials for GAMA Trade Show next week (new display and table cloth, catalog, sell sheets, etc.), prepping for Gen Con (we need Game Masters to run game events!), as well as working on some exciting behind the scenes stuff.


NOTE: There will not be a Weekly Update next week because Wayne and I will be at the GAMA Trade Show and Sean will be busy with some of the behind the scenes ventures. We hope to see some of you at GAMA and bring us books to sign.

As the name suggests, this is an RPG that deals with the zombie apocalypse. It sounds fun so check it out. NEWS! The Secret World – North America Kickstarter by Star Anvil Studios for Savage Worlds and 5e. This is another Kickstarter project you might be interested in checking out. It deals with the secret, dark underworld of North America, the illuminati, cryptids and more. Things are getting done


The fruits of many months of hard work and years of planning are starting to come to fruition. New books are nearing completion, the TMNT & Other Strangeness RPG Redux editions and related Kickstarter exclusives should be going into manufacturing very soon, the new color catalog looks great, the new convention display materials are dynamic and done, and a number of our plans and projects are moving along nicely. In short, all kinds of new things will be coming your way over the next several months. Including Palladium’s new website and online store, new business partners, and new licenses. And it feels good. I can’t wait to reveal more and more in the coming months.

I think some of that affection shows in the sales we offer throughout the year (a hardcover sale starts today!) and in our increasing number of YouTube videos and online interviews. Every book we write and publish is a labor of love.


That should be abundantly clear when you see the TMNT & Other Strangeness Redux editions and Kickstarter exclusives shipping this spring. We pulled out all the stops to make them truly special. Books you’ll cherish and probably use for years running TMNT and mutant animal games. I can assure you that Sean, me, Kevin Eastman, Peter Laird, Sophie Campbell, Mike Majestic, Freddie E. YIn-Sloth Expeditions should be the first new release of the year, followed by Rifts Bestiary Volume 2 and Rifts Antarctica, among others. We are very excited about this year’s releases. This is in addition to other projects like TMNT & Other Strangeness Redux editions and things yet to be announced.

CLOSING THOUGHTS

Back on Track


Grief is a crazy thing. The late, great Julius Rosenstein’s brother, Dave, dropped by to visit me at the Palladium Studio this week. It has been two years and a couple months since Julius died, and he said he is still deeply grieving the loss of his brother. The two were very close and had lived together for many years, so everything in the house reminds him of Julius. I know the feeling. However, I’m pleased to say that while I think about Kathy often every day, and miss her mightily, I am feeling much more like my old self and not locked in debilitating grief. Best of all, I’m feeling the urge to write. Not just an urge, I can’t wait to finish books like Yin-Sloth Expeditions and start new ones! I even took a bit of time over the weekend to make some notes and write an opening to an upcoming book when the ideas came to me in a rush of inspiration. I look forward to diving back into writing and bringing you new books, but I have to deal with some important business matters first. Grrrrr. Soon.


Doing the Palladium YouTube videos and various podcasts are getting me geared up for writing books as they have been quite inspirational. J-M DeFoggi and I did our first gaming discussion video this week. The fundamentals of designing an RPG campaign for you and your players and game design for a book are very much the same. So we talked about how to get started, where to find ideas, and a number of other aspects of campaign/adventure building. It was a blast and I think folks will enjoy this series of conversations. Not sure when they’ll go live. It may be quite some time. Note that many of our monthly chats with the gents at Legion of Myth involve game play and game mastering, many based on questions from viewers. My next live chat with LoM is Sunday, February 16th. More coming from the Glitterbois podcast too.


There’s a lot going on here in Palladiumville as we close in on sending the TMNT & Other Strangeness Redux titles and Kickstarter Exclusives to manufacturing. Plus we have a vast number of other exciting projects and business propositions going on behind the scenes. I’ll talk more about them when I can. New product releases should start appearing in March.


I hope to see some of you at the GAMA Trade Show (February 24-28) and a lot more of you at Gen Con (yes, we are already dealing with Gen Con prep; July 31-August 3), and Granite State Comic Con (mid-September where gamers, TMNT fans, and comic book fans gather in great numbers).

I am currently doing a comprehensive ongoing series hosted by the affable J-M DeFoggi on the Official History of Palladium Books. A new episode posts every other week, plus the occasional bonus episode. It is being presented in rough chronological order and includes Secret Stories of the Defilers. The Defilers are my legendary, first campaign at the Detroit Gaming Center (DGC) where I ran 26 regular players for 12 hours every Saturday night for three and a half years. The DGC is also where I met folks like Erick Wujcik, Matthew Balent, Julius Rosenstein, and my first wife Maryann, and developed concepts and play-tested many Palladium rules and RPGs. We will also be sliding into topics about running games, writing, game design, character and monster creation, and lots of other themes as well as interviewing other people such as Matthew Balent, Ramon K. Perez, Freddie E. Williams II, etc., and a host of Palladium staff and creators. Please don’t hesitate to offer topic suggestions to any of the social media outlets listed here.

I will be returning to do more interviews with the ever popular Glitterbois in February. Meanwhile, there are numerous discussions about role-playing and Palladium’s many game settings and book titles by the hosts, as well as an ongoing series of chats about the history of Palladium Books with me (Kevin Siembieda, the guy who started the company and has written or co-written 200+ RPG books). – RealPlayGames Podcast – These talented fans have been creating radio-play style podcasts based on various Palladium RPG worlds for years. Their audience is growing. They are currently at the tail end of their Season One Palladium Fantasy series: Surviving Love. It sees a bunch of sexy dating show singles from the real world flung into the Palladium Fantasy world. The reception to it has been reported as nothing short of fantastic; their biggest and, by a large margin, best-performing podcast release to date! Check it out. They also plan to release their second season of Cozy Caverns Mysteries, based on Beyond the Supernatural 2E, in February, and have plans for other projects in development. Valley of the Pharaohs RPG Expanded 40th Anniversary Edition – available for a limited time

Waaaay back when, Palladium Books published the Valley of Pharaohs RPG as a box game. Well, 40 years later, I gave the author, my pal, Matthew Balent (best known for Weapons & Armour, Weapons & Castles, Weapons & Castles of the Orient, etc.), permission to reuse my artwork in a new, vastly expanded redux edition of the original game. It is a big 200+ page RPG. (The original was only 64 or 96 pages plus a dozen maps and diagrams.) Negatives are always very popular items at the Palladium Open House, Gen Con, and conventions, and are catching on as rare collectibles, unique in and of themselves. Before digital printing, pages of a book were laid out by hand on a board, and each page was photographed.

I am currently doing a comprehensive ongoing series hosted by the affable J-M DeFoggi on the Official History of Palladium Books. A new episode posts every other week, plus the occasional bonus episode. It is being presented in rough chronological order and includes Secret Stories of the Defilers. The Defilers are my legendary, first campaign at the Detroit Gaming Center (DGC) where I ran 26 regular players for 12 hours every Saturday night for three and a half years. The DGC is also where I met folks like Erick Wujcik, Matthew Balent, Julius Rosenstein, and my first wife Maryann, and developed concepts and play-tested many Palladium rules and RPGs. We will also be sliding into topics about running games, writing, game design, character and monster creation, and lots of other themes as well as interviewing other people such as Matthew Balent, Ramon K. Perez, Freddie E. Williams II, etc., and a host of Palladium staff and creators. Please don’t hesitate to offer topic suggestions to any of the social media outlets listed here.

I will be returning to do more interviews with the ever popular Glitterbois in February. – RealPlayGames Podcast – These talented fans have been creating radio-play style podcasts based on various Palladium RPG worlds for years. Their audience is growing. They are currently at the tail end of their Season One Palladium Fantasy series: Surviving Love. It sees a bunch of sexy dating show singles from the real world flung into the Palladium Fantasy world. The reception to it has been reported as nothing short of fantastic; their biggest and, by a large margin, best-performing podcast release to date! Check it out. They also plan to release their second season of Cozy Caverns Mysteries, based on Beyond the Supernatural 2E, in February, and have plans for other projects in development. Valley of the Pharaohs RPG Expanded 40th Anniversary Edition – available for a limited time

Waaaay back when, Palladium Books published the Valley of Pharaohs RPG as a box game. Well, 40 years later, I gave the author, my pal, Matthew Balent (best known for Weapons & Armour, Weapons & Castles, Weapons & Castles of the Orient, etc.), permission to reuse my artwork in a new, vastly expanded redux edition of the original game. It is a big 200+ page RPG. (The original was only 64 or 96 pages plus a dozen maps and diagrams.) The game rules are Matthew’s own creation with some unique ideas and mechanics you may find interesting, Meanwhile, the spells, characters, and ideas can be adapted to the Palladium game system with a little work. The lore, history, and writing is outstanding, so if you love Egyptian mythology, this is a must have item. CLOSING THOUGHTS

Back among the living


Gah. I have a killer head cold or bug of some kind, but it’s the fever that I hate. It has had me out of commission all week and part of last. I think I might have had it beaten because I was feeling great Saturday and Sunday until I overdid it working and staying up late. Monday morning the bug had returned with a vengeance. I’m finally feeling better, but now I’m coughing and look and feel worn out, so my apologies in advance if I’m not in top form on Legion of Myth this Sunday afternoon (2:00 PM Eastern Time, please join us) or in a DeFoggi interview or two. Sheesh. Still it’s good to be back among the living (mostly), after a very zombie-like Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.


Despite my being ill, we actually made a lot of headway on several fronts. TMNT & Other Strangeness being one of them (everything looks so good) and GAMA Trade Show (February 23-27) preparations being another that I’m at liberty to talk about.


The infamous J-M DeFoggi (and Molly) will be braving the Plague Zone here at the

office with a highly anticipated visit to the Palladium Books studio. Though we met in person at last year’s Chaosium Con in 2024, J-M and his pal Molly have never been onsite at Palladium and they are looking forward to it. By the way, Sean thinks we should refer to the offices/warehouse/Palladium HQ as the Palladium Books Studio, because we really are more of a “studio” than an office. I mean, this is where the books are conceived, designed, and laid out, there is original art and prints, games, and life-sized statues (Leonardo, Storm Trooper, Stan Winston Alien, and numerous Halloween props) all over the place, so definitely NOT your typical office environment. It very much has a playful studio vibe. I also like the “studio” designation, so that’s what we’ll be transitioning over to calling Palladium H.Q. – the Palladium Books Studio. Sean and I just need to remember to do so consistently.


Say yes to RPG audiobooks! It may sound crazy, but you MUST check out the Nightbane: Dark Designs audiobook being crowdfunded right now on Backerkit. It sounds amazing. I always thought making RPG audiobooks was a good idea, but we were all blown away by the quality. You are going to love these, especially if you already listen to novels as audiobooks. It makes the books come alive in a different way. The publisher has chosen to start with the sourcebooks to lead into the grand finale of the core rule book to build excitement and anticipation for the RPG. Please check it out!

News! What’s hot at Palladium this week – With the end of the Surprise Package offer, we saw everything blowing out the door, but we did notice some interesting trends: Rifts® and Palladium Fantasy remain hot, but we’re seeing Phase World® and Rifts® Dimension Books along with Heroes Unlimited/After the Bomb® heating up. The surprise has been the magnitude of renewed interest in Dead Reign® RPG, it has been super-hot this past week in both regular orders and Surprise Package requests.

Dead Reign® is red hot – I think people are discovering that Dead Reign® is an intuitive, fast, fun, introductory game ideal for inexperienced, new role-players and fun for seasoned veteran gamers. The Dead Reign® setting and prime enemy (zombies) is instantly familiar and easy to understand, combat is straightforward with no magic or psionics, and the zombies are both familiar yet different, and uniquely Palladium. How zombies function and behave (the Zombie Moan, converging to get a piece of P.P.E. at the moment of a victim’s death, etc.) makes total sense and I think people like to understand how (our) zombies function and why. It answers questions about zombies that no other game offers.


Sales are up with distributors, retailers, and across the board. Just last week we had two different people visit the office. One was a business meeting unrelated to RPGs and the other was a visit by a Rifts® fan. Both were looking to try a new RPG, something beginner gamers could pick up easily. I told them about a few of our games, but both gravitated toward Dead Reign®. Both bought the RPG and love it. In fact, the business person (a big board gamer) loves the setting and is starting a Dead Reign® campaign with his wife and some friends this week! If you haven’t tried it, you might want to take a look at Dead Reign® in the future.

Negatives are always very popular items at the Palladium Open House, Gen Con, and conventions, and are catching on as rare collectibles, unique in and of themselves. Before digital printing, pages of a book were laid out by hand on a board, and each page was photographed.

  • Each negative is truly unique, attractive, and fun to have.

  • Each is signed in silver ink by Kevin Siembieda and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.

Valley of the Pharaohs is back with 200 additional pages of material as a softcover and hardcover RPG. Warmest wishes for the New Year. I try to keep the Christmas and New Year’s Eve Weekly Updates very brief and focused on fun. That means not much business talk and no new sales. Instead, you’ll find a few news bits, some hints of things to come in my Closing Thoughts, and the extra long fan comment section at the end of this mailing, where I answer some questions. These fan comments are always fun and we appreciate every kind word. Palladium Collectibles – at Kevin’s Online Toy & Collectibles eBay Store

I am adding new collectibles of all kinds to my Ebay store in time for the holiday season. Some are Palladium negatives, rare and out of print books, original Palladium artwork, prints, posters, as well as other collectible toys, action figures, Nightmare Before Christmas items, one-of-a-kind proofreader copies, books, and other good stuff – including Erick Wujcik’s rare and sought after Amberzine #12-15. One-of-a-kind Palladium Books negatives (special and rare collectibles). Negatives are always very popular items at the Palladium Open House, Gen Con, and conventions, and are catching on as rare collectibles, unique in and of themselves. Before digital printing, pages of a book were laid out by hand on a board, and each page was photographed.

  • Each negative is truly unique, attractive, and fun to have.

  • Own a piece of Palladium Books and RPG history you will treasure.

I read each and every comment that comes in the Surprise Packages, and they always brighten our day. We all appreciate your kind words, suggestions, and insights. In fact, the idea to do hardcover editions of core rule books came from fan comments in the Grab Bags. We get a lot so we can only offer a sampling of these comments in the Weekly Updates.

[Hi L.C., boy, you’re full of questions, aren’t you? Here’s the answers. Dice: As we restructure Palladium Books for another 40 years of epic RPG fun, dice, Game Master screens, and the whole-nine-yards are on the table. Sean and I, and the growing Palladium crew have BIG plans for our future. Fingers crossed. Rifts® Bestiary 2: Yes, there will be at least one hardcover for the public. It was an Insider crowdfunder, so there are a couple of backer limited edition hardcovers too. The Rifts® Movie: After holding onto the Rifts® movie option for nearly 20 years and several attempts at finding the right screenplay for a live action Rifts® movie, Walt Disney Pictures finally let the option go. That does not mean we’ll never see a Rifts® movie. Hollywood continues to flirt with us about film adaptations. And not just for Rifts®. Over the years we’ve had inquiries about Nightbane®, Beyond the Supernatural, Ninjas & Superspies, and Splicers®! Sadly, none of them have panned out. We quietly worked behind the scenes with a Canadian film studio for seven years to make a Splicers® TV show happen. They wrote a great pilot episode and dynamic outline for season one (and two, if I recall correctly) that we went wild over, but they couldn’t get the funding to make it a reality. What a shame, because it was outstanding, but that’s the entertainment business. Videogame rights for all our RPGs are also available for any established company that might be interested. – Kevin]

I blended Heroes Unlimited with Veritechs all the time. So Palladium Books is my comfort zone.
