UPDATE: My eBay Store for collectibles. Alex and I have added some new art and negatives by the time you read this Weekly Update. The one–of-a-kind negatives are from early books and lets you own a piece of palladium history (and art) on the cheap. I’m also considering putting some Ramon Perez and other art up for sale. Happy Times! Wayne Smith has gotten married. He and lovely wife Sheila are on their honeymoon. We are thrilled for them and wish them a long life together filled with love, happiness, good health, and prosperity. (Pssst, Palladium’s ace writer, Matthew Clements is getting married next month. We’re happy for them too.)

Sad Times. Palladium’s Lord of the warehouse, Crystal, and her family are dealing with the sorrow of having to place a loved one (her mother) in hospice. Our deepest sympathy and prayers for Crystal and her family struggling through these sorrowful and difficult times.

UPDATE: Titan Robotics is done and the feedback we have been getting back is overwhelmingly positive. With few reports of spelling errors or problems. This is your last chance to get your feedback to us, because Titan Robotics™ AND The Cyberworks™ Collection should be sent to the printer in then next few days. ALSO please review the Titan Robotics PDF to make certain we spelled you names correctly in the Backers’ acknowledgment block of that book. Once the book goes to the printer it is too late to change.

UPDATE: Backerkit is being finalized. That means you need to make any changes to your Kickstarter Pledge and make purchases in Backerkit over the next week.

UPDATE: The Remastered and Bookmarked Rifts® Shemarrian Nation™ PDF has been completed and will be available to you any day now. Possibly even as you read this. Rifts® Sourcebook One, Sourcebook Two: The Mechanoids® are done and have already been made available to you.

UPDATE: Feedback on Yin-Sloth Jungles, 2nd Edition. This updated and expanded edition is epic and moving long. It is one of the main projects I have been dividing my time between along with other things you are going to love. And everyone who has seen bits and pieces are pleased and impressed. What you are seeing with Creature Feature, Titan Robotics, Yin-Sloth Jungles, and other recent and upcoming releases are just a hint of things to come.

Please Help a Palladium Stalwart

Hey folks, you may know Jeff Ruiz, a.k.a. NMI, as the Admin on the Palladium Books forums/website for, oh, the last 20 or 30 years now. What you may not know is he helps out in many ways behind the scenes: managing the forums, organizing G.M.s at conventions and Open Houses, and the Megaversal Ambassadors, as well as being a confidante and sounding board on projects few others even know about. We’ve also been there for each other through thick and thin. Jeff can be a bit rough around the edges at times, but he has a heart of gold, is a true Palladium devotee, and a friend. In short, he’s a largely invisible but important member of the Palladium community.

Jeff has struggled with a bone disease called Charcot and infected bones. He lost his lower left leg a few years ago. He lost his right leg and his job in January. He’s now on a fixed income and dealing with the high cost of physical therapy, medical related expenses, and needs to get a prosthetic for this latest amputation below the knee. He has been incredibly brave and inspiring on this difficult journey and needs our help.

Jeff has taken another courageous step by starting a Go Fund Me page and asking for help. Though he did not make it clear on his page, the $15,000 he is asking for is the amount needed to get a prosthetic for his second leg so he can become mobile again. It’s terrible being unable to walk and go out into the world. On behalf of our friend NMI, I’m letting our Palladium family know about his plight. We hate to ask during these uncertain times, but if you can afford to help out, please do so. Any donation is appreciated. Palladium Collectibles – at Kevin’s Online Toy & Collectibles eBay Store

I am adding new collectibles and Palladium negatives over the next several weeks, so check ‘em out. Alex and I will try to post new items on a regular basis, so check in every week or so to see what’s new.

One-of-a-kind Palladium Books negatives (special and rare collectibles). Negatives are always very popular items at the Palladium Open House, Gen Con, and conventions, and are catching on as rare collectibles, unique in and of themselves. Before digital printing, pages of a book were laid out by hand on a board, and each page was photographed. The plastic film negatives were then “ganged” on a massive sheet of Mylar, 16 pages per big sheet, and the printing plates were made from the negatives – everything white, printing black. We have been cutting them loose and making them available to you. I am only keeping a few dozen pages of negatives and a few complete books for myself, the rest are all being slowly offered to you, in no particular order.

  • Each is truly unique, attractive, and fun to have.
  • Own a piece of Palladium Books and RPG history you will treasure.
  • Each was used to print the very book you may have in your collection (1981-2004).
  • Each signed in silver ink by Kevin Siembieda, the founder and owner of Palladium Books. He is also the game designer and often the author or co-author of the book from which the negative originates. And some negatives bear his artwork.
  • Each signed negative comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
  • Each signed negative is a one-of-a-kind work of art (on rare occasions, two-of-a-kind if a page or section of pages were replaced or a second edition was made) that resembles woodcut art, and a very dynamic conversation piece.
  • Each signed negative is on a white board inside a clear plastic bag.
  • Negatives looks fabulous matted or framed! Fits in an 8×10 inch matt opening. Each neg is roughly 8½ x 11 inches.
  • Prices vary depending on the title, the art, and quality of the negative. Note: Many have scratches, or blemishes, and/or an opaque medium on the negative. Still, they look great and are a piece of RPG history. We recommend you carefully examine the photographs of each item to avoid disappointment.
  • We have been making the negatives available, in no particular order, for a number of years, and will continue to do so. However, cutting them loose, signing and bagging is a time consuming process.
  • Note: The negatives from the TMNT RPG, TMNT Adventures, and some Rifts® titles are already sold out. Moreover, the negatives from many titles were destroyed, so when you see one you like, get it when you can. Enjoy.

Original art – My Ebay store is one of the few places where you can find original artwork by me (Kevin Siembieda), Kevin Long, Charles Walton, and others, as well as one-of-a-kind negatives from classic Palladium books (they look awesome framed), and other Palladium memorabilia. Some are concept sketches, others are finished works of art, as well as a selection of prints and posters.

Other collectibles include art prints, posters, comic books, Palladium limited edition hardcovers, out of print items, signed books, one-of-a-kind proofreader copies, Star Wars toys, superhero action figures, and many other toys and items from my personal collection. Closing Thoughts – Our pledge to you

This week has been a mixed bag ranging from wild excitement, something sad, something good, and something great. We have so many things moving and building behind the scenes.

I want remind you of the three things we have pledged to you and ourselves:

1. We promised to start bringing to you the many books announced over the year for which you have been waiting. There is no set order for that and it does not mean there may not be unannounced titles and even brand new releases – things we have been working on for months and in some cases, years behind the scenes. Some of those titles you know about, like Rifts® Bestiary Volume Two, Rifts® Antarctica (the art and concepts are amazing), Beyond the Supernatural and Palladium Fantasy RPG® sourcebooks, and others. When we see an opportunity we seize it. So when the right freelance writer volunteers to work on one of those projects, like Yin-Sloth Jungles and Island at the Edge of the World, we put it into motion. After all, it has minimum impact on larger prioritized releases and they are among the books many of you have been waiting for as promised. When we can drop a long awaited title into the print schedule, we’ll do it. Please note, Yin-Sloth is getting much more of a rewrite and expansion than at the Edge of the World, but it needed it. By the way, neither of these two fantasy titles are spur of the moment releases done on a whim. Both books have been in quiet development for a year! So are other titles. Under our new policy we just aren’t announcing releases until they are close to going to the printer.

2. As always, we need and want to hear from you. Please tell us what you think we are doing right, what you think we are doing wrong, what announced titles you are most anxious to see, what new subjects or settings or genres you might want us to consider, adventure and book ideas, and so on. You are super-important to us. You are our valued core customer base and members of our extended family. We never forget that and you shouldn’t either.

3. We are rebuilding Palladium’s Foundation to become rock solid and stronger than ever before. A strong foundation means being able to bring you quality products faster and bring you everything your (and our) hearts desire. We have been lining up great writers, artists, and internal personnel all happening invisibly behind the scenes. All vital as we grow into the company we all want Palladium to be.

Oh, and Sean and I dream big. So our apologies if we start blowing your minds and make you smile on a regular basis. Great gaming will be coming your way very soon. Yin-Sloth Jungles, Rifts® Titan Robotics, The Rifts® Cyberworks Collection, Rifts® Bestiary Volume 2, Rifts® Antarctica, and more. But they are just the tip of the iceberg.
